So imagine the Ankh-Morpork Times has been reporting on a bunch of dwarven miners trapped down a mine (with no alcohol whatsoever) in some faraway country for the past few weeks, using an inordinate amount of the paper's resources and space to do so.. Has Vetinari somehow how forced them to focus on this heart-warming incident? And, if so, what is the big story he's trying to gloss over? Or is he simply trying to cheer up the citizens in a time of economic crisis?
Sure its not wag the dog and getting everyone interested in the fact that one of these dwarf's wife and mistress is waiting on the surface to distract from said leaders pecadillos?
